Visiting with my friend Laura Norris to view her quilt studio during the San Juan Island Artist Tour. The quilt displayed behind us is sewn using San Blas Mola's that I purchased for her. You can visit Laura's website at: www.thistledowndesigns.com

2001 Sailing Projects
Needlepoint time on this years season was pushed into the background in favor of being out and about exploring new places.
I did however manage to complete my two polar projects in celebration of having sailed to the North and South Pole, or as my as my buddy Lisie puts it becoming bi-polar.

My winter 2000 Baby Quilt Project |

This "Cathedral Windows" Quilt
was a group challenge from my quilt group in Friday Harbor. We
each submitted two pieces of black and white fabric that was divided
up. Our mission was to create a small quilt only using an extra
25% red. The deadline was the County Fair so I worked feverishly
on our maiden voyage in 1997 to complete my quilt in time for
entry.... Only to hear that no one else had managed to complete
theirs. I was pretty pleased to discover that my quilt won a first
prize blue ribbon at the County Fair.
