Azores - Painting the Wall

Tradition has it that if you want a safe voyage with fair winds and calm seas you MUST paint your boat name on the walls of Horta Marina.

At the end of the breakwater you will find my painting of Mahina Tiare III.

Repainting the 1989 Maiden sign I did when I first sailed to Horta in training for the 1990 Whitbread Around the world Race. The poor mermaid who was part of the logo has long since been painted over.
